These Bible Verses Will Make You Believe In Love Again
Love is patient and kind, and God's love is ceaseless and endless.
God's Word is his love and what better place than the Bible to turn to when we need to remind ourselves of this. The verses below will help you open up your heart and mind to the unceasing and unfailing love the Lord has for his children.
1 Corinthians 13:4-5
"Love is patient; love is kind. It does not envy; it does not boast; it is not proud. It does not dishonour others; it is not self-seeking; it is not easily angered; it keeps no record of wrongs."
"Let love and faithfulness never leave you; Bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart. Then you will win favour and a good name in the sight of God and man."
1 John 4:9-11
"This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through Him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another."
And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony.
1 John 4:18-19
"There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love. We love because He first loved us."
Song of Songs 8:6-7
"Place me like a seal over your heart, like a seal on your arm; For love is as strong as death, its jealousy unyielding as the grave. It burns like blazing fire, like a mighty flame. Many waters cannot quench love; Rivers cannot sweep it away. If one were to give all the wealth of one's house for love, it would be utterly scorned."
"Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. Be devoted to one another in love. Honour one another above yourselves."
"You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love."
Jesus answered, "The most important thing is, 'Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.' The second is this: 'You shall love your neighbour as yourself." There is no other commandment greater than these."
"Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?" and he said to him, "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbour as yourself. On these two commandments depend all the Law and the Prophets."
But love your enemies, and do good, and lend, expecting nothing in return, and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High, for he is kind to the ungrateful and the evil.
